All of the Incheon National University start-up teams won the Excellence Award at the "4th Disabled and Non-Disabled University (Won) Start-up Competition" organized by Hankyung National University and Pusan National University.
A total of 37 teams were formed with 257 applicants from 72 universities across the country, and 105 people went to the finals after the preliminary round and a total of 12 teams won the prize.
Incheon National University was honored with three teams ("Choi Il Director Center" team, "Mobilityx" team, and "Voyager" team) participated and all received the Excellence Award. Among them, the "Choi Il Director Center" team, led by student Lee Sang-bin (Incheon University Tax Accounting Department), won the award under the theme of "Everyone," a residential welfare platform for the disabled. This team consisted of student Choi Jong-min (Incheon University's Department of Computer Engineering), student Soohyun Lee (Sungsil University), student Lee Ju-young (Kongkuk University), and student Lee Jae-ho (Glocal Campus). Team leader Lee Sang-bin is said to have decided to develop items to solve the problem of infringement of residential rights for the disabled. He added, "We developed this item to protect the housing rights of the disabled and heard their grievances face-to-face."
Lee Sang-bin, a student from the "Choi Il Director Center" team, said that the support of the Incheon National University Start-up Support Group was of great help. Through the Startup College start-up club, we received space and funds for start-up activities, and we were able to materialize ideas and increase business feasibility through various start-up support programs. Lee Sang-bin, the team leader, said, "The biggest reward is that we break the boundaries of non-disabled people to form a team and achieve results, and Incheon National University students became a part of it." "Everyone" is a platform related to the right to live for the disabled and aims to protect the right to live for the disabled, and it is expected to continue to develop with the goal of achieving a break-even point within the next two to three years.
Another winning team, the Mobility X team, consisted of Yang Hyun-jun (BioRobot System Engineering Department, Incheon National University), Kim Young-woon (Kyunghee University), Jeong Ga-eun (Kyunghee University), Kim Hyun-ho (Hanyang University), and Lee Jun-hee (Hanyang University). They proposed a smart bus stop solution for the disabled and the users of Personal Mobility (PM).
The "Mobility X" team wanted to provide a convenient mobile environment through the establishment of a barrier-free stop where wheelchair users can ride buses and their movements are optimized. Yang Hyun-joon, a student of the Mobility X team, said, "Through this award, we confirmed the possibility that our proposed solution can provide practical help in guaranteeing the right to move for the disabled and PM users. We will continue to implement more advanced smart mobility stations through continuous research and development with our team members." "Mobility X" plans to create a better transportation environment through various technological innovations and designs in the future.
The creative ideas and problem-solving skills shown by the Incheon National University start-up teams at this competition make us look forward to future activities, and the Incheon National University Start-up Support Group wants to create the best environment for students to develop their dreams of starting a business.
