Introduction
The College of Engineering began with five departments (Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Dept. of Electronics Engineering, Dept. of Civil Engineering, Dept. of Architectural Engineering) when Incheon Institute of Technology, the original campus of Incheon National University, opened in 1979. There are three majors (Mechanical, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering) in the Dept. of Mechanical Systems Engineering and six departments (Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Management Engineering, New Materials Engineering, Safety Engineering, and Energy and Chemical Engineering).
Over the years, we have invited many outstanding faculty members and attracted outstanding students through our continuous efforts. We have significantly contributed to cultivating specialized engineering experts, community service, and national industrial development.
With the relocation of the new campus to Songdo International City and the transition to a national university, we are facing a golden opportunity to become a prestigious university in Korea and the center of Northeast Asia. We are preparing to take another step forward by establishing a concrete and feasible development plan and making great efforts to realize it.
The Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (ABEEK) was introduced in 2005 to internalize engineering education. In January 2009, the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education accredited the College of Engineering, and graduates have been certified since February 2010.
The College of Engineering is committed to fostering human resources with international competitiveness and future-oriented expertise with the educational goal of "fostering professional engineers with a sense of responsibility and ethics, comprehensive design skills, field performance competence, and creativity."
