The College of Urban Science

The College of Urban Science was separated in 2010. It comprised the Dept. of Urban Policy and Administration, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Civil and Environmental Engineering Major, Environmental Engineering Major), Urban Engineering, and the Division of Architecture & Urban Design (Major of Architectural Engineering , Major of Architecrural Design and Urbban Design).

Introduction

The College of Urban Science was separated from the College of Engineering in 2010. It comprised the Dept. of Urban Policy and Administration, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Civil and Environmental Engineering Major, Environmental Engineering Major), Urban Engineering, and the Division of Architecture & Urban Design (Major of Architectural Engineering , Major of Architecrural Design and Urbban Design).

We provide interdisciplinary education and research in practical studies for the realistic solution of diverse and complex urban phenomena.

Modern society requires a sustainable, future-oriented city that is human-centered, low-carbon, green, integrates cutting-edge technologies, provides high-quality design, and builds a ubiquitous urban system. To fulfill this, we solve urban challenges creatively and innovatively and develop new urban values that lead the paradigm required for the future society.

Educational goals and objectives

We lead the international city of Northeast Asia, led by the Incheon region. We teach a theology that converges engineering and humanities to build a future-oriented high-tech city based
on eco-friendly green growth by utilizing the trends and characteristics of global urban development. We have the following 3 ultimate educational goals.

  • 1Cultivating creative and innovative urban professionals
    We foster urban specialists who can creatively challenge and innovatively solve urban problems arising in rapidly changing cities by understanding and applying new academic theories and practices fused with traditional theories.
  • 2Cultivating comprehensive and systematic urban managers
    We foster urban managers who can comprehensively and systematically perform various duties to address complex and diverse contemporary urban challenges in all aspects of society by pursuing academic understanding.
  • 3Cultivating pioneering and dedicated urban leaders
    We foster urban leaders equipped to apply the theories and practices of their academic disciplines to the local community by strengthening their ability to participate in discussions on local issues, contribute their services, and take the lead in solving issues in the community.
